Abstrak

Early detection of cervical cancer through Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) is a key strategy in reducing the incidence and mortality rates of cervical cancer in Indonesia. This study aims to describe the implementation of the IVA Test program at the Sei Mencirim Health Center and identify supporting factors and challenges in increasing community participation through an advocacy approach. The study uses a descriptive qualitative method with in-depth interviews with 1 (one) key informant, namely the Head of the IVA Test Program at the health center. The study results indicate that the IVA Test program has been running for 12 years with service integration into the Free Health Check program. IVA Test services are conducted every Wednesday with free access for BPJS participants and local residents. The advocacy approach involves active collaboration with village heads and PKK mothers, who play a crucial role in education and increasing community participation, particularly among women without clinical complaints. The main challenges are the community's perception that cervical examinations are associated with social stigma and the limited availability of trained health workers. In conclusion, the implementation of the IVA Test program at the Sei Mencirim Health Center has been effective with community-based advocacy support, but there is a need to strengthen education and referral systems to sustainably increase screening coverage.
